Cadence  - Born March 2nd, 2005

Cadence was diagnosed at birth with Shone's Complex, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, Coart Aorta, VSD, Mitral Valve problems, and Trisomy 8 genetic disorder.  She has had 3 open-heart surgeries, 1 closed-heart surgery, multiple cardiac catheterization surgeries, GI surgeries, oral/dental surgeries and over 500 nights in the hospital.  She, like her brother and mother, also has a pacemaker.  Cadence will require an abundance of medical treatment during her lifetime and will most likely need a heart transplant in the near future.

Cadence's medical care is neverending. We go to a doctor appointment and to the pharmacy every week. Her immune system is also quite compromised, turning common colds into hospital stays for pneumonia.  

We are amazed at the miracle God has blessed us with in Cadence. She is alive and vibrant...more than we ever expected!

Chance  - Born August  7, 2002

Chance was born with a large atrial septal defect and suffered from multiple episodes of heart failure, for which we rescued him using CPR.  Chance had cardiac catheterization surgeries and open-heart surgery and then a pacemaker placed to help with 2nd degree heart block.  He will require pacemaker replacement surgeries, like all of us, for the rest of his life.

He continues to amaze us with his energy and his smile and his love for his baby sister.  He is an amazing golfer and wants to be an architect and a PGA golfer when he grows up!
